Tower block demolition set for Sunday 31st July 2016

We are pleased to confirm that all the necessary survey work associated with the tower block demolition has been successfully completed and with Forshaws having now had their detailed demolition procedures approved by the relevant authorities, a new date for the blow down of the three remaining towers has been set for Sunday 31st July 2016.

With this in mind, Forshaw Demolition will be delivering a letter to all affected residents over the coming weekend (see below) which will set out the proposed timetable of events leading up to the blow down on 31st July.

From Monday 4th July, Forshaw’s will also be re-contacting all households and businesses within the exclusion zone to confirm the detailed arrangements and to deal directly with any specific concerns or questions that arise.  There will also be a further drop-in event for residents on Thursday 14th July, from 1pm to 6pm in the temporary site cabin on Lidl’s car park.

Tower Block Demolition- Interim Update

We plan to release more information next week about our timetable for the demolition of the three remaining tower blocks on Queens Park. But in the meantime, we just wanted to let you know that our demolition specialists, Forshaws, will be undertaking a couple of small test detonations today (Wednesday 22 June) in Walter Robinson Court.

In the unlikely event that you hear something, please don’t be alarmed; this is only preparatory survey work and not the start of the tower block demolition!

Please watch this space; we will be providing a comprehensive project update next week. Thank you for your ongoing cooperation.
